Georges Hot is a French painter of the Lyrical Abstraction movement, a figure of European Expressionism.

​

A graduate of the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, he made a large part of his career on the African continent and his works are notably present in public collections of Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Benin...

​

He returned to France in the 1980s and held exhibitions in Europe, the United States, Japan and on the African continent. Member of the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Indépendants, he was a friend of Hans Hartung, Marie Raymond, Natalia Dumitresco and Jean Marais.

​

His preferred medium was acrylic painting but he realized numerous drawings, engravings, sculptures and mosaics.
